There are blogs, which are conceived “with a silver spoon in their mouths.” True? Of course, not. This is a big fallacy. Almost all blogs start out small. So if you want to be included among the Top 25 Best Blogs of the Time Magazine or other to other known countdowns, don’t be deluded with the idea that you can create it overnight.

Nevertheless, to start as such, you need not go far. You only have to visit those known blogs in the blogosphere and try to emulate them but not so much as to copy them because your blog will only end up in the trash.

There are a handful of best blogs available in the Internet but there are also those which are overrated that you might mistake it to be one of those best blogs. If you are into films, it is necessary to be knowledgeable about almost all the movies, past and present, and on high calibre directors, producers, and sloppy ones. That is the basic requirement, but how do you proceed? You can visit known blogs on the film industry like Slashfilm (/Film) and try to observe how they do it.

Modelling your blog after the greats will help you save some time. Instead of dragging yourself for hours thinking about the things that you have to post on your blog, much less, why post as such, you can visit great blogs like Talking Post Memos, The Huffington Post, Lifehacker, Metalfiter, or Freakonomics and from there, you can brainstorm for ideas on how to start your blog. Always remember, you can emulate them but not so much as to copy them. You can experiment with your blog design in order to avoid such scenario. And always remember the “bikini rule:” keep your blog short enough to attract attention but wide enough to cover the essentials.
