The world of blogging is large and varied. You can write just about anything under the sun and there are people who will still read it! All around the world, people are raving about the power of blogging and the excitement it brings along. While there is no doubt that blogging is indeed good and pleasurable, everything is not as hunky-dory as it is portrayed to be. When people start off, they are gung-ho about their blogs; however, for some, this initial excitement ebbs away soon as the encounter some roadblock or negative aspects.
If you are planning to start your blog, then, it is imperative that you know not only about the positive aspects, but also the grey areas that you may encounter.
All your blog posts are for all to view
Many people consider this to be an advantage! And yes, it is indeed a virtue until you post something controversial. There are bloggers who like to publicize their views about certain topics that are highly sensitive. They are under the impression that it will increase the traffic to their website. Though it will, you will have to pay a price! If you have posted content related to work or your work place, then, be prepared to face the wrath of your boss and colleagues if they happen to read it.
Your blogging will overpower you
You cannot deny this fact. Blogging, over a period of time, becomes an obsession. Rather than you controlling the blog, the blog begins to control your lifestyle. A lot of people who started planning blogging based on the schedule on hand ended up planning the schedule based on the blogs they wanted to post! You should know that things have gone a bit too far if you end up spending every passing moment thinking about your blog.
You stand alone with no support
Everyone starts off with the dream of having a blog that has a steady stream of followers. This will happen once the blog posts get informative and have interesting information for the readers. However, there is another home truth you need to be prepared for. No matter how interesting and informative your blog is, your readers will move to other blogs over a span of time.
You can never be satisfied with the design of your blog
It is imperative that you understand and accept this truth. I am yet to see a blogger who says he is happy with the way his blog looks to his readers. Every time you surf on the internet, you are bound to see blogs that have a better visual appeal. There are people who are so obsessed with getting the design right, that they spend worthless hours on the net tweaking the look and making changes. These hours could have been put to better use instead!
