If you have only just started a blog, then in all probability, you will be the one constituting your loyal audience of one. If you are lucky and loved, then your friends and family may also be following you on a day to day basis. However, this much loved admiration will not really help when it comes to making money from your blog. Getting enough traffic to earn money out of a blog is every blogger’s dream, or should we say ‘nightmare’? If you have just begun a new blog and are waiting for traffic to pour in, then some tips that will help in the numbers pouring in are:
1. Writing Unique, Original, Informative Content:
Even if you are really interested and passionate about what you are blogging about, it is unlikely that what you are saying has not been said before. However, instead of taking this as a cue to printing what has already been printed a hundred times before, take it as a challenge to add something new to what has already been said. Providing value to readers in the form of required information or entertainment will definitely yield results.
2. Update, Update, Update:
Not only will Google and other search engines give your blog a higher search engine results page ranking if you keep on updating your content regularly, but your readers will also keep coming back only if they know that you will have posted something new for them. As a blog beginner, you should update your blog on a daily basis if you do not want to risk losing out on the audience that you already have and in order to get new traffic to your site. Once your blog is as successful as you want it to be, then you may start doing lesser posts.
3. Get A Relevant Domain Name:
There are so many times when you come across a blog giving good technical information that comes with a name appropriate for a fashion and beauty site or something equally irrelevant to what is being said. These blogs generally belong to non serious bloggers who are out there to speak their mind, not earn money. However, if you are planning to do the latter, then it is advised that you get a domain name that spells out exactly what you are doing.
4. Make People Comment On Your Blog:
Nothing succeeds like success. When people visiting your blog will see evidence of other people also doing the same in the form of comments, then they will be more inclined to take interest in what you are saying. The best way to get comments is to pose questions in your blogs. And when people comment on your blog, make sure that you answer back. This will help in generating and keeping interest.
5. Comment On Other People’s Blogs:
Commenting on other blogs that deal with the same topic of interest as yours can help in generating a lot of targeted traffic to yours. By making educated, informative, expert comments on other blogs that are similar to yours in nature, you encourage their readers to come and check you and your blog out. After all, they will want to know who this expert is and what he wants to say.
